I was going to some music class during my 2 years at LA Tech. I thought it was a joke at first...

I was getting ready to head to the store with Andrew, who was only 1 yr. old.

When I saw what was happening, I immediately thought of Val, my sister-in-laws sister whom I had known since we were both 12. She had worked in the World Trade center, and I knew this was when she'd be there. I didn't find out until about lunchtime that she had quit her job 2 wks before, but she was planning to meet a friend there at 8:30 am. No one knew if she was safe until almost midnight since all the communications were down/overwhelmed. She had overslept and missed their meeting time. Since all the T.V. stations were down, she didn't know what was going on until she went out. She worked as a volunteer for the rest of the week handing out food and water to the rescue/recovery workers.

Horrible day.
